Remarks: Ember Tetras (Hyphessobrycon amandae) are small, orange tetras from Brazil. Luckily, they have been mass-produced for many years and are readily available to fish hobbyists. Even at less than half an inch, they are packed with orange color, which darkens at the edges of the fins to a somewhat red hue. Because of their size, however, they require many conspecifics to feel comfortable and safe - safety in numbers is the key to survival. To encourage their best colors and activity, it is best to keep them in groups of 6 or more. A group of 10-15 will fit comfortably in a ten gallon tank.
