Remarks: Emperor Tetras (Nematobrycon palmeri) are a perfect community fish due to their medium size, stunning colors, and sexual dimorphism. Both genders have silver bodies and a thick black band in their lower half and a think black stripe in the center of their caudal fin. Males turn a slight purple color and gain an iridescence along their body that shines in a rainbow of colors as the light bounces off. The anal, dorsal, and caudal fins in males have extensions as well as orange trim on the edges.
