Tarantula - Chilean Rose Hair

This scorpion was a hobby staple and was one of the most commonly available tarantulas in the United States tarantula hobby for quite some time. Known for their docile nature and longevity, the Chilean Rose Hair is a favorite and top beginner species for many. Females of this species easily live past 20. In 2014 Chili stopped exports on Rose Hairs, catching the hobby off guard. Post 2014, nearly all Rose hairs were either wild caught in Chili or bred by hobbyist there. With the hobby in the united states unprepared to breed them, this species is now much harder to obtain.
